The VA salesperson licensing test is probably the easiest test ever taken. Have a GSR:

Congrats! I found a yellow GSR for sale in Virginia when I was there for work training in March, and I loved it. So cool.

Unfortunately it is. Not quite as nice as in the pictures, but still definitely a looker.

Just curious what you need to know to become a "licensed salesperson"? For cars? Seriously - warranty? Financing vs leasing? How to calculate a monthly payment? What else is there to know?

Actually it's none of that. That's all supposed to be taught to you by the dealership. The test is mostly about things like tags, buyers guides, disclosures, etc. Basically its to make sure you know the documentation and ethical information presentation a customer is legally entitled to.

I saw one at the VW dealership I test drove a GTI at. Sadly it was DSG and the price was nearing 35k. Not worth it for a beetle when the golf R can be had for the same price.

I don't know. This is the same dealer that had a Mk6 GTI "driver's edition" at 30k BEFORE taxes and fees with what I assume is a "just because we can" fee on it to jack up a car that has an MSRP of 25k.

Ah cool. Thanks for explaining. Anything unusual or unexpected?

The only unexpected questions I came across were the ones about automotive power of attorney. Basically the stuff that goes down for used cars that have titles missing or in limbo.

Yikes. You might wanna Yelp them. I mean, there's no excuse for 5k markups on what are basically regular models.
